Lesson Summary: Students will research information about one of the fifty states using print and on-line resources. This information will be used to complete the following projects:

1. Basic document as a state fact booklet

2. PowerPoint presentation on state assigned

1. Students will have a working knowledge of basic computer skills:
   1. Word processing
   2. Importing graphics and sounds
   3. Toggle between two or more software programs
2. Students will have a working knowledge of basic research skills.
3. Students will have a working knowledge of writing skills.

Technology:

1. Microsoft PowerPoint
2. Internet access

1. Students' will be gathering information and entering it onto various fact sheets which will be put together as a booklet. Much of this work will be done by hand and not on the computer.

1. Students will be instructed to view certain websites to gather the information on State Fact Sheet.
2. Students' will be instructed to begin a blank PowerPoint Presentation with each slides title before entering information.
3. Students' will enter appropriate information into their slides.
4. Students' will be instructed on how add clipart, pictures, change fonts, size and color, and format the backgrounds of their slides.
5. Students' will be instructed on how to fine-tune their slide show by animating and adding sounds to put everything together.
6. Students' will present their slide show and basic fact booklet
