The HSA is similar to the PTA or PTO groups from other schools.  The purpose and objectives, as stated in the bylaws of St. Rose of Lima Home and School Association, are as follows:

To promote open communication among the parents, teachers and administration.

  • To provide parents and teachers with information to aid in all aspects of education, growth and development.
  • To promote good will and cooperation between and among parents, faculty, administration and the parish.
  • To direct and coordinate parental support of school through assistance activities, social and civic functions and fundraisers.
  • To foster the political action of parents as advocates regarding national, state and local legislation that affects all Catholic Schools as well as the lives of students and parents.

Is there a school lunch program?  What does it include & is someone there to help/monitor?

Hot lunch can be purchased by sending in a check at the beginning of the week and a note indicating the dates your child will be eating the school lunch.  Monday thru Thursday, lunch is provided by Dave’s Bar and Grille.  The lunch costs $3.50 and includes milk.  On Fridays, pizza lunch is provided by Domino’s at a cost of $3.00 and includes chips and milk.  A monthly meal calendar is sent home at the beginning of each month so you can plan in advance.  There is also ice cream for sale at lunch time, priced between $.50- $1.25.  Milk is sold for $.50.

What & when are dress down days?

Occasionally, Saint Rose will have a dress down day. Students are not required to participate.  A dress down day is a day in which students are allowed to dress out of uniform. However, they must still dress in a way becoming to a Catholic school child.  Typically, those participating in a dress down day are asked to send in $1.00 or they have earned the day through fundraising or some other activity.

What are & why are there fundraisers?

Saint Rose is a parish school and is supported by the Saint Rose and Clements Church.  In order to keep tuition low and to ensure the Saint Clements subsidy does not grow, we must raise a given amount each year.  We have a variety of fundraisers, some requiring little effort and others which take more time and dedication but assist us in reaching our goals.

Are there any extracurricular programs?

There are many extracurricular activities, including: Musical Instrument lessons, Karate, Cooking Club, Lego Club, Arts and Crafts, CYO, other sports programs, and Theater.

How does St. Rose deal with snow delay/early dismissals?

Saint Rose follows the Warwick Public School system for dismissals.  You can check the news for updates.  Also, a connect-ed is sent to all families to inform of any delays, early dismissals and closings.

Please keep in mind that the school has one phone line.  If the school receives incoming calls, Mrs. Fuller will be unable to call out in the event of an emergency.  Please wait for a Connect-Ed message for further instruction.

What is Connect-ed & when is it used?

Connect-ed is a way in which the school can get in touch with all families.  It is able to contact families via telephone and email.  This is the fastest and most reliable form of communication.

Is there anyone we can contact with last minute questions prior to school starting?

You can email any of us on the H.S.A. board at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  In addition, our individual emails are all available on the Saint Rose website at www.saintroseschool.com in the "HSA Contact us" section .

Does my child need money at school?

Occasionally, students may want to have some money at school.  For older students there is a vending machine with beverages, ice cream and other frozen novelties are sold at lunch, and occasionally there will be a bake sale at the school.  If there is a bake sale, it will be posted on the school calendar.
