Here at Saint Rose of Lima we consider our spiritual growth the most important of our daily routines. We pray for the safety of everyone in every aspect of his or her lives. As teachers, it is our moral and professional obligation to educate the students of Saint Rose. The teachers of Saint Rose have tried to educate students that there are many hidden dangers on the Internet. With the pressures of peers and society many of our students have fallen into the trap of posting personal information on the Internet. The purpose of this page is to help inform you of the dangers, preventives and also give you some materials to read. This information will help you to make informed decisions about your child’s use of the Internet.

IMPORTANT: Any students found placing information about the school or its students on the Internet will face disciplinary actions. The material placed on the Internet will determine the severity of the action taken. The action taken could be detention, suspension or expulsion.

Students participatie in an Internet Safety Unit. The curriculum is through ISafe.org and will be conducted during computer classes. Mrs. Henchy has been an I-Safe Certified trainer since May 2003 and has conducted these sessions in the past. This year we will add classes on the dangers of using sites such as myspace and will watch some of the videos that are available from MSNBC and ISAFE.
