What is Scrip?
Scrip is simply a word meaning "substitute money". In this case, Scrip takes the form of gift cards from national and local retailers. The Scrip program is simple. Participating retailers sell their gift cards to St. Rose of Lima School. Families like yours purchase the cards from us at face value and redeem them at the stores through product purchases. In appreciation for our efforts, the retailer gives our school a percentage of the sales AND participating student families are also rewarded with a personal tuition reduction. Best of all, participation in the Scrip Program is free of charge for everyone involved!
Which merchants are participating in the Program?
We are going to start with Stop & Shop, Shaw's, CVS, and Dave's Market. We are hoping to add other popular retailers and restaurants once the program gets underway.
Where do I purchase Scrip cards?
We will be selling Scrip cards in the parish office Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM - 2:00PM, in the school office Monday - Friday between 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Volunteers will also sell after Mass on the weekends.
How do I use the Scrip gift cards?
Scrip cards are the same gift cards that you can purchase directly from the merchant. You can give the cards as gifts or use them for your regular shopping. The gift cards do not expire and you do not lose any unused portion of the card. Each time you make a purchase, you reduce the amount of money that is left on the card. When you have used the card up, simply purchase another one from us.
How can I pay for Scrip?
For now, we can only accept cash, checks and money orders. At some point in the future, we hope to expand the program and also offer it through our website, which will accept credit card purchases.
How much do the Scrip cards cost?
To begin, we will be selling gift cards in $10, $25, $50, and $100 denominations. Once the program has been underway for a while, we will re-evaluate these increments and adjust accordingly.
How do I get started?
Simply pick up a Scrip Order Form at the parish or school office or download it here or from our Parent Resource page, fill it out and bring it with your payment to one of the Scrip volunteers in the church foyer after any weekend Mass or the parish or school office.
